Terms and conditions
Updated: September 29, 2026
These terms govern your use of Recapio. By creating an account or purchasing a credit pack, you agree to them.
1. The service
Recapio is a multiple-choice practice platform with spaced-repetition review. Learning and Browsing modes are free and unlimited. Testing, Review, and Exam simulation consume credits.
2. The credit model
A credit represents one answer, not one unique question — repeated reviews cost the same as the first time a question is shown. At registration you receive a one-time free allowance of answers, with no renewal. Credit packs are a one-time purchase; there is no subscription, no automatic renewal, and no monthly plan. Credits never expire.
3. Payments and billing
Payments are processed by Paddle.com, which acts as the merchant of record for your purchases. Paddle is the legal seller, handles applicable VAT and taxes, and issues invoices. Recapio does not receive or store your card data or other billing information.
4. Refunds
You can request a full refund on a pack if you have used less than 10% of the credits it granted. Above that threshold, refund requests are declined with a reason. On an approved refund, the remaining credits from that pack are cancelled.
5. Chargebacks
A chargeback initiated through your deck results in the account being suspended and a negative credit balance equal to the disputed pack, pending manual review.
6. Referral program and secondary market
Credits earned through referrals and promotional credits can be transferred freely, with no limit on amount or frequency, to other users. Directly purchased credits and the free registration allowance cannot be transferred. Transferring credits between users is permitted and free of charge on our part; any monetary arrangement between users regarding such transfers does not involve us, is not guaranteed by us, and remains the sole responsibility of the parties involved.
7. Your account
Your account is personal and non-transferable: it is tied to a single email address, verified by a code, and may not be sold, rented, assigned or shared with other people. The account can be used on at most 3 devices; a new device can replace the least recently used one at most once every 30 days. Simultaneous activity from distinct sessions can trigger a progressive temporary lock, clearly explained in the interface, which we can lift manually. If we have indications that an account is sold, assigned or shared, we may suspend it until the situation is clarified.
8. Question content
You are responsible for the content you upload. The only accepted format is Markdown, with single- or multiple-answer multiple-choice questions.
9. Account deletion
You can permanently delete your account. Content, statistics, and progress state are deleted. Unused credits are forfeited on deletion and are not refunded.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes are communicated by transactional email or through a visible notice on the site.
